The Science of Olympics

Cornerstone Christian College’s brightest Science Minds are heading to the Olympics – of the Science kind!  Five of our Year 10s have been requested to participate in the Australian Science Olympiads.

Our Year 10 Science students performed so well in the recent ‘Big Science’ Competition, in which 48000 students participated nationally, that they have been asked to compete and have been provided with free registration by Australian Science Innovations for the Olympiads.  Five out of Cornerstone’s 7 ‘Big Science’ Entrants in the Year 10 cohort earned Distinctions or High Distinctions.  That’s a fantastic result.

The Australian Science Olympiad Competition is a national extension program for top performing secondary students culminating in the International Science Olympiads.  The competition is a rewarding opportunity for high achieving Year 10 and 11 students to extend themselves way beyond school science through challenging exams, stimulating residential programs and international competition.

We salute Mr Meyer for his support of these exceptional students.  He was understandably delighted with these results. ‘We can be very proud of all our students’.
