Positive Community Involvement
One of our strengths as a College is our positive involvement with our community. That may be in the form of excursions or competitions outside the school or with visiting groups and speakers presenting to our classes. We regularly receive feedback on our students from these outside agencies, reflecting how well Cornerstone students interact and represent the College. Over the last few weeks we have had a Compassion representative speaking to our Primary students, a debating team working with our Secondary English students, a state-wide win with our Cows Create Careers teams – each one gaining recognition for our College in the community.
As we work with 21st Century learners, these occasions reinforce some of the skills that we are developing in our students; leadership, communication and collaboration are all desired outcomes. As we develop students living in God’s kingdom, these times present opportunities to help our students live out principles that we find in the Bible. We are encouraged to live in harmony and to encourage each other, humbly building each other up. In doing so we bring glory to God. We look forward to further events in our calendar where this focus can be realized.
