Looking out for Others
An aspect of our College that we value highly is support. We are often recipients of support in subtle ways and we love being able to offer support to others. I would like to acknowledge the people have supported some of the College’s larger undertakings over the last few weeks. The parents that volunteered to help make the Senior Ball such a success by decorating the venue helped create a beautiful theme for the night that was enjoyed by all who attended. Also the parents that helped at the swimming carnivals helped ensure that those events were run safely and smoothly.
This attitude of support is also mirrored within our College. Our students help each other and those in our community in so many ways, including volunteering on weekends which adds so much to the culture of our region. Some of our senior students helped at the Primary swimming carnival and also at the Junior Primary beach carnival. This investment into others is a Christian value that we seek to build into our students at Cornerstone and we are always pleased when we can see it in action. Keep an eye out in our newsletters as we celebrate these types of occasions.
Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
