The first class at Cornerstone Christian College, Dunsborough put on their brand new uniforms today, and made their way into history. Whilst the Kindy class doesn’t join the others until tomorrow, Pre-Primary to Year 2 students were on site and absolutely delighted to be part of something so new and wonderful.
Mrs Tina King, the newly appointed Head of Campus, has transferred from the Busselton campus to ensure that Cornerstone Dunsborough, whilst uniquely being an entity in its own right (with a Dunsborough flavour of its own), draws from the successful and established nature of Cornerstone Busselton. Tina, who has 14 years of leadership and educational experience with Cornerstone, has hand-picked a team of teachers and support staff who will continue the well established reputation of the school as a caring and safe environment, where both character and mind are nurtured upon a loving Christian faith based foundation.
Incoming principal Garry Maynard said the new campus provides an amazing opportunity for families to experience innovative education from our Christian staff in a truly impressive setting.
Sharing her expectations for each student in her care, Tina said: ‘Harnessing a child’s natural curiosity and creativity to foster a culture of thinking in preparation for life-long learning is our intent.’
The students were asked if they were having a great day, and every hand shot up with such excitement that ‘this is the best school ever’.
Congratulations to those who will be remembered as being part of the start of an exciting new adventure.
